    2020 News – Mentoring

As we ended 2019 on a high note with a fruitful holiday program, we were eager and ready for 2020! Not knowing what 2020 had in-store for the world.

We are truly grateful that despite all the challenges, trials and uncertainties, we could at the end look back at 2020 and just stand in awe on how the Lord has provided for Joshua Project.

We hope that you will enjoy this article as we tried to capture 2020 in a glanse.

As part of our daily program, we try to mentor the children by various means. We would take them on a one on one outing, or in a group setting but unfortunately 2020 had placed a hold on that but thanks to our valued social workers, they soon found a way to visit the children in a safe way, especially in a time when they needed it most. We adapted from one-on-one home visits, which was the norm before lock down, to “street visits” in order to keep within the regulations where through most of the lock down levels, one was limited to visit anybody’s home.

After weeks of the initial hard lock down, the children were happy to see our social workers faces again. We appreciate their effort to spend most of the day on the road to go and find the children in order to speak to them to ensure that they were safe and keeping up good spirits amidst the uncertainties.
