For many 2020 was a time of few or little production opportunities but at Joshua Project, we were blessed to have been able to use this time to complete and start new projects. We will be sharing all that has happened in 2020 by breaking it down to our acronym M.E.N.D (Mentor, Educate, Nurture and Disciple) The links to these articles will be listed below.
Jeffreys Bay
Due to safety and security concerns, we started the plans to put up a fence around our building. After many months of pray and work, we could erect it during the national lock down.
Humansdorp Development
After years of prayer and planning, we are making progress in the development of our Humansdorp branch.
With the increase amount of children attending, we had to look at a better equiped premises that could cater for all the needs of the children.
We are forever thankful to Pastoor Baartman and Beth-El Revival Centre for hosting us since 2015.
We are looking forward to hosting the children at the new premises. This project still needs a lot of work and resources and we covet your prayers.
We received a very generous donation to purchase 2 containers and converted it to a classroom and an ablution facility. The containers were delivered on 16th of July 2020.
In order to complete this project, the following still needs to be done.
- Connection to municipal lines – sewerage, water and electricity needs to be connected.
- Geyser installation
- We still need to work on a kitchen facility to prepare meals for the children as well as putting up a roof joining the two containers and paving or cement flooring between the two containers creating sheltered space for the children to enjoy the outdoors.
You can contribute towards the completion of this project by supporting our BackaBuddy Campaign https://www.backabuddy.co.za/charity/profile/joshua
AGM
Due to lockdown, we had opportunity to have people able to attend our AGM that could under previous “normal” circumstances not attend.
Joshua Project Nederland
It is with great gratitude and excitement for the birth of Joshua Project Nederland.
Joshua Project is registered and has AMBI status. This is helping us greatly for donations from Europe and to ensure that donors are assured that the funds are put to a good use.
You can see there posts on https://joshuaproject.co.za/nederland/
We appreciate our team in the Nederland for their continued prayers and support.
Volunteers
We could not celebrate another year if not for the endless amount of hours our team, volunteers and directors have invested into Joshua Project.
We thank our Lord, Jesus Christ for bringing various individuals and organizations on our path.
We started 2020 with a well-attended directors meeting and they were blessed with spinach from the garden. We are truly blessed to have a board of directors who cares.
Later in the year though, everyone had to get technical savvy and we could join the world of virtual meetings and was able to continue vital directors meetings.
Throughout the whole of lock down, our team and volunteers assisted on a bi-weekly basis in order for food parcels to be sorted and delivered to the children’s homes.
Thank you!!
Thank you for each person whom have prayed with us during the past year. Thank you to each volunteer whom have invested their time by serving the children with love. Thank you to each person whom have invested into the lives of the children whether it was their money, their skills or time, we appreciate your efforts. We want to thank our Heavenly Father for keeping our doors open.
